Semifinal – Baldia Town Tournament
Usmanabad Union 1 – 0 F.C. Rovers
3-10-13

It was Usmanabad who started strongly and had good possession in the early exchange with their team pressing hard to win ball possession in Rovers’ half. Rovers could not settle their nerve early on and paid an early price when Usmanbad striker was not closed down and was allowed to take a shot from outside the penalty box. Abdullah managed to get the finger tip to it but was beaten by the power of the shot. Rovers striker Irfan Junejo did get the golden chance to equalize when Hamza Shahid’s long ball found him one on one with keeper but Irfan’s weak effort was saved by the goal keeper’s outstretched hand and Usmanabad defender was able to clear it before it crossed the goal line.

In the 2nd half Rovers made couple of changes in the midfield which made a good impact on the game. Rovers did get 3 or 4 chances to equalize when Waqar Hussain’s deflected shot found Hamza just inside the box but he scooped it wide. The match was played at a very fast tempo and in the last minutes Rovers failed to make use of free kicks which they got continuously as Usmanabad looked to sit on there lead and play on break.

Rovers settled late in the match and and the young side felt pressure of the semifinal and conceding early goal did not help their cause. Still a lot of positives to take from this tournament as a lot of young players got exposure to play at this level and Rovers definitely will leave behind plenty of fans in Baldia Town.
