On 9/10/2013, FC Rovers played a registered knockout tournament match against Daggu FC. Due to the late arrival of the other team, match was reduced to 40 minutes. The first half started with good ball possession by FC Rover, though they were one man short but they didn’t took any pressure. Defenders were sloppy throughout the first half and that costed Rovers the first goal. Despite having good ball possession, mid-fielders failed to create enough chances in the box, which saw less shots being taken on target. During the match break, teams were introduced to the chief guest & former City Nazim, Sir Naimattullah Khan.

Second half started with Waqar’s prelude. With one goal down, Rover players were zealous to score an equalizer. Just like 1st half, Rovers kept most of the possession, but this time more chances were created in the D. Rovers joy was overcome, when Harris’ goal was disallowed by an offside, which was brilliantly set up by Osama. With team’s mode switched to ultra attacking, a defending error led Rovers to go one more goal behind. In the final minutes of the match, Waqar struck a superb goal into the net, and kept the hopes alive of come back, but all it was a consolation goal.

Energy level was very low in the first half; perhaps team took the opponent team very buoyant. That’s why defense was excessively casual throughout the match, which allowed rival team to score goals easily. Though ball possession was high, but attackers and midfielders failed to capitalize the possession until second half, when we were trailing one goal and rival team’s half players were defending the goal post. Final score, FC Rovers faced an early elimination from the tournament, after losing the match by 2 goals to 1, with Waqar scoring the only goal from Rovers side.
